Indiana University Health is committed to fostering wellness. Learning about options and strategies to prevent illness and to boost health is essential. The Indiana University Health Learning Alliance offers health education opportunities for the community, patients and wellness programs for employees. Dozens of programs are available for youngsters, teens, adults and older adults, designed to promote life-long healthy habits.
The topics range from sun safety for infants, asthma, food nutrition, teens' driver safety, parenting simulation for teens, at-risk behaviors, health screenings, a walking program for older adults, intergenerational tutoring and more.
When you become a patient, you can be assured that highly trained patient educators who stay abreast of current research and trends in health care will provide information in ways that you can understand. They will support and coach you while you are in the hospital, as well as following up when you return home. Many education programs are available for on-going learning about how to manage your condition, including family involvement. And, as a patient, you can be sure that you are fully included as part of the patient wellness team.
