Judge Sarah Evans Barker

Appointed as a district court judge by President Reagan in 1984, Judge Barker served as chief judge of the southern district of Indiana from 1994 to 2000. She has served on the Judicial Conference of the United States and several of its committees; as president of the Federal Judges Association; is active on various civic, museum, religious and educational boards; and has received numerous awards, citations and honorary degrees.  Judge Barker recently was honored by Modern Healthcare magazine as  "2011 Trustee of the Year" representing not-for-profit healthcare systems.

D. Craig Brater, MD

Dr. Brater is dean of the Indiana University School of Medicine and director of IU Medical Center. A professor of medicine and pharmacology and toxicology, Dr. Brater is active in the American Society for Clinical Pharmacology and Therapeutics, the United States Pharmacopeia, and the Association of Professors of Medicine. Locally he serves on the boards of directors of BioCrossroads and the Riley Children's Foundation.

William R. Cast., MD

Dr. Cast, Indiana University Health's newest Board member, is CEO of NoMoreClipboard, an online, patient-controlled personal health record management system. Cast received his medical degree from Indiana University and practices with ENT Specialists in Fort Wayne. He was founding chairman of DuPont Hospital in Fort Wayne and was also founding president of Canterbury School, a pre-kindergarten through 12th grade school in Fort Wayne. He is currently serving as chair of the Indiana University Board of Trustees.

Thomas W. Chapman

Thomas Chapman is president and CEO of The HSC Foundation in Washington, DC, the parent corporation for two subsidiaries, The HSC Pediatric Center and Health Services for Children with Special Needs. He was previously senior associate vice president for Network Development and Professor of Health Services Management and Policy at George Washington University Medical Center in Washington, DC. Dr. Chapman is the current vice chairman and immediate past chairman of the IU Health board of directors.

Bishop Michael J. Coyner

Bishop Coyner was appointed as Bishop of the Indiana Area United Methodist Church in September 2004. Prior to being assigned to Indiana, he served eight years as Bishop of the Dakotas Area. Before his election to the episcopacy in 1996, he served Indiana congregations in Peru, Peoria, South Bend and Fort Wayne. He served as a district superintendent in Lafayette and also as executive assistant to Bishop Woodie White.

J. Scott Davison

As chief financial officer for OneAmerica and its affiliated companies, Scott Davison is responsible for leading all the financial-related functions within the enterprise. In addition to his CFO duties, Scott is responsible for OneAmerica’s Medical Stop Loss business and is president of OneAmerica Funds, Inc. He is a Chartered Life Underwriter and Chartered Financial Consultant and is a member of Financial Executives International. Scott was named “2008 CFO of the Year” by the Indianapolis Business Journal. He serves on the board of Camptown, Inc., Indiana Sports Corporation, Indiana Bond Bank, and The American College.

Daniel F. Evans, Jr.

Daniel F. Evans, Jr., was appointed president and chief executive officer of IU Health in 2002. Mr. Evans is a past chairman of the IU Health board of directors, and was active for many years on the IU Health Methodist Hospital board, serving as its chairman just prior to the consolidation. Prior to becoming CEO, Mr. Evans was an attorney and partner with Baker & Daniels.

 

 

Charles E. Golden

Charles Golden retired from Eli Lilly and Company in 2006 as executive vice president and CFO and a member of the board of directors. He was previously a corporate vice president of General Motors and chairman of GM’s vehicle operations in the United Kingdom. Mr. Golden serves on a wide range of boards and panels. Mr. Golden is a past chairman of the IU Health board of directors.

 

David W. Goodrich

David Goodrich retired in 2005 as president and CEO of Central Indiana Corporate Partnership, Inc., a coalition of Central Indiana CEOs promoting regional growth and opportunity. Mr. Goodrich is chairman of the IU School of Medicine Dean’s Advisory Council and a member of the Indiana University Randall L. Tobias Center for Leadership Excellence Board of Overseers. He served as vice-chairman of the IU Health board and previously served as chairman of the Methodist Health Group board of directors.

V. William Hunt

Bill Hunt is chairman of Hunt Capital Partners, LLC, a venture capital and consulting firm based in Indianapolis. Until August 2001, he was the vice chairman and president of ArvinMeritor Inc., a global supplier of a broad range of automotive parts and systems. Previously, he was chairman and CEO of Arvin Industries. Before joining Arvin, Hunt practiced labor relations law in Indianapolis. Mr. Hunt is the current chairman of the IU Health board of directors.

James E. Lingeman, MD

Dr. Lingeman is a long-standing member of the IU Health Methodist Hospital medical staff and an internationally recognized leader in the field of urology. After receiving his medical degree from Indiana University School of Medicine, he served his internship and residency in general surgery and urology at Butterworth Hospital in Grand Rapids, MI. Dr. Lingeman is the long-time chair of the Methodist Institutional Review Board. He is also chairman of the board of the Methodist Research Institute and director of the International Kidney Stone Institute.

Angela Barron McBride, PhD

Dr. McBride is distinguished professor and university dean emerita at Indiana University School of Nursing. During her tenure as dean (1991-2003), she also served as senior vice president for academic affairs - nursing within IU Health. Dr. McBride is past president of Sigma Theta Tau International (the honor society of nursing) and the American Academy of Nursing. She is the current chair of the National Advisory Committee for the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation's Nurse Faculty Scholar Program.

Michael A. McRobbie, PhD

Michael McRobbie became Indiana University President on July 1, 2007. An Australian native, Dr. McRobbie is also CEO of Pervasive Technology Laboratories. He joined IU in 1997 as VP for information technology and chief information officer, assumed responsibilities as VP for research in 2003, and was appointed interim provost and VP for academic affairs for IU-Bloomington in 2006. Dr. McRobbie maintains professorships in several disciplines and currently holds appointments on the Joint Committee of the Higher Education and Entertainment Communities, Council on Foreign Relations Higher Education Working Group on Global Issues, and Indiana's Education Roundtable, among other organizations.

Anne Nobles, M.A., J.D.

Anne Nobles is senior vice president for Enterprise Risk Management and chief ethics and compliance officer for Eli Lilly and Company. Ms. Nobles holds a B.A. and M.A. in archeology from Harvard University and a J.D. from Georgetown University Law School. She was named among the “Most Influential Women in Indianapolis” by the Indianapolis Business Journal and the “Top 15 Women in Pharma” by Fierce Pharma, and currently serves on Citizens Energy Group’s Executive Committee of the Board of Directors, National Urban League Board of Trustees, Riley Children’s Foundation Board of Governors, Women’s Fund of Central Indiana Advisory Board and Committee of 200.

Director Emeriti

Gene E. Robbins, Esq.

Mr. Robbins joined the board of directors of IU Health Methodist Hospital of Indiana in 1973, and has served on numerous boards and committees of IU Health Methodist Hospital and, subsequently, IU Health, ever since, including the IU Health Board. He currently is a director emeritus on that board. He is active in several positions in the United Methodist Church and practices law in Frankfort, Indiana.
